Momma saw Linus and Lucy yesterday! Their new Mom asked if Momma would show her how to trim their nails. Of course Momma was so excited to see them. They are doing wonderful in their new home complete with a huge cat tree and lots of toys. Linus is getting longer by the day and Lucy is growing into her ears a bit. They had lots of hugs and kisses for Momma and even purred through their nail trimming.
In other kitty news, Momma didn't completely close the doors leading to the porch this morning so Shia pushed them open and sat just inside the house. While Momma was concentrating on preparing Shia's breakfast, I decided to greet Shia nose to nose. Momma was terrified when she saw us. She actually started yelling the "NO NO NO" word. Shia promptly returned to the porch exclaiming "That is why I will never live inside with those creatures!" I on the other hand was amused. Momma can't understand why I only like Shia and not all the other cats/kittens who live in my house. Oh well, it's good to keep her guessing.
Regrettably this is a non-pictorial post. Every once in a while I like to simply type words.
These are the antics and adventures of cats sharing the same space. Despite their ranting herein, all of them are very sweet and have enriched the lives of two grateful humans.

Freaky Friday
Not a good start to today... Abbi wants to kill Donovan, Aleah found the kitten carrier in her sacred bathroom, Shia is sick of the insanely high heat index, and Milo wants to live with Momma.

Kitten Art
Momma wants to make sure these kittens are skilled in technology, so last weekend she let them loose with the iPad. Linus and Tigger gravitated to the kitty art apps:
Here is their first collaborative masterpiece:

Bittersweet Day: Part 2
Remember these two cuties:
They are Lucy (previously known as Gizmo) and Linus. The above pictures were taken when they were five weeks old. They are now nine weeks old and have doubled in size:
Today is their adoption day! Once again Momma and Daddy are torn. They are so grateful Linus and Lucy get to stay together and are going to live with an absolutely wonderful couple, however they will be dearly missed. Linus can get the most serious look on his little face which always makes Momma smile and Lucy has turned into a wild child but still has a sweet spirit. We are going to miss our cuddle time with both of you and all of the laughs as we watched Lucy continuously try to beat up her brother Linus. Our prayer for you remains the same... may you grow up surrounded in love. We will always love you two.

Donovan's Bad Day
Donovan had to get a vaccine shot yesterday. This morning Momma discovered Donovan threw up her dinner and doesn't have much of an appetite. Hopefully lots of rest with her favorite toy will help:

Kitty Comfy
With all the time Momma has been spending with those kittens, I need to kick up my cuteness factor. So here I show her that I'm not at all bothered by their kitty baby smell everywhere. I am still queen of this castle:

Kittens at Play
The kittens spent more time at our house. Those monkeys will play with anything!

Kitty Case
Now that I am a prolific kitty blogger, I really needed a case for the laptop computer. This one serves me very well:

Bittersweet Day
Today the first of our baby kittens leaves the nest. A girl who works at the vet fell in love with Steve and has been patiently waiting to adopt him. They all get their first vaccine shots today and Steve will go to his forever home.
Momma and Daddy are very thankful you're going to a great home but we are going to miss you so very much sweet Steve. You are quite the character and such a love bug. Goodbye our dear boy, our prayer is that you will continue to grow surrounded by love.

Kitty Momma Purse
This may appear to be an ordinary purse from the outside:
However, one look inside and you know it belongs to a Kitty Momma:
Momma never knows when she may need a crinkly kitty ball.

Kitten Food and Milk
The kittens are growing so much every day. Mealtime is always well attended:
This is what Steve looks like every single time he eats:
They also still love to drink their kitten formula:

Yep he's got a milk chin! He and Steve are so cute together. Sometimes they even do the same thing at the same time:
Tigger wants to make sure they receive the same treatment so first he swats Linus:then Steve gets his turn:

New Kitty Door
You may remember I am adamant that my screen porch door stay open at all times:
Well, the neighbor's dog has an annoying habit of escaping from its fenced yard and trying to get into my porch. I simply cannot allow this contemptible transgression any longer. The female human is not as handy in the construction department as my needs required, so I gained mind control over the grandfather human and demanded he rectify this egregious condition. As you can see I now have a door just for felines:

The female human keeps the porch door shut now but I can still come and go as I please. Humans at times are very useful servants!

Kitten Visit
Guess who spent some time at our house yesterday? Yep, the rescue kittens! Donovan hissed at them. Aleah was fascinated. Abbi was not told of their visit and this is Shia's first look at Tigger:
Tigger was enthralled with Shia. He couldn't take his eyes of her. It's almost like he's asking Shia if she's his momma. Surprisingly, Shia was on her best behavior and simply stared at all the kitty babies.
Happy 4th of July!
We're not a fan of firecrackers or fireworks but we are a fan of freedom.

Kitty Game
This household is quite high tech. All of the felines are very proficient with every kind of gadget imaginable. Since it looks like I'm going to be here for awhile, I might as well join in on all the fun. I found this thing laying on the floor and would you believe it has cat games on it?
(Oh yeah, I need to get the high score before the others find out about this!) |
