Abbi got some presents from friends and family. Here we see her investigating a gift:
Catnip is detected!!!
The couch is the unfortunate victim of Abbi's catnip frenzy:
As the source of the catnip is revealed, Abbi's not exactly sure if she approves:
These are the antics and adventures of cats sharing the same space. Despite their ranting herein, all of them are very sweet and have enriched the lives of two grateful humans.

Super Purr
There are two things you need to know about Miss Pumpkin. The first is she is a very sweet cat and the second is she has a very loud purring kitty engine. Take a listen to her:
Isn't that one of the best sounds in the world?

Baking
Momma has been using the computer so much lately that we haven't had any time to post. She claims she needs to research recipes for Christmas baking. All I know is the house constantly smells like chocolate or peanut butter or cinnamon, but not like chicken or turkey or even tuna. What does a kitty need to do to have her Momma make cookies kitties would like?

Kitty Routine
If you have a cat, you know how routine based they are. LG has many routines but there is one he reserves for when Grammy and Pappy are away and Momma watches him. Every time Momma walks in the house, LG leads her to the back porch and talks to her as he goes out to roll around on the cement. Typically the conversation lasts for a few minutes, but this time he was only willing to have a few seconds recorded:

How a Kitty Shows His Heart
Guess who left this for Momma in their kitty litter box?
This sweet boy:
Grammy and Pappy were away earlier this week, so Momma took care of Lil Guy otherwise known as LG. As Momma's first rescue cat, LG is super loved by Momma and she's so thankful he has a fantastic home. Look at this face:
With all that adorable-ness, it's no wonder even his pee is heart shaped!
(I assure you the litter picture was not altered, nor was it staged. Momma really scooped that out of his box.)

Let's Change Things
The best thing about having the carpets cleaned is the bedroom furniture gets moved. I voted for keeping all the furniture in the living room, but got outvoted so I enjoyed it while it lasted:
One might say my parents have no sense of furniture adventure.
I also was in favor of keeping the mattress in this position, but once again I was in the minority:One might say my parents have no sense of furniture adventure.

Yucky
As any teenager will tell you it's tough growing up especially when you have acne. Poor Pumpkin has not escaped this rite of passage. She had to go to the vet when Momma noticed feline acne on her chin. To make matters worse, Pumpkin had to suffer through the indignity of having her temperature taken. As soon as the vet left the room, you can be sure she immediately tried to wash that experience away:
And then asked: Momma, why did you let them do that to me?

Shia's Smack Down
This video is not the highest quality and it was taken at night so the lighting is atrocious, but we simply must share this with everyone. The following shows what happens when Daddy tries to pet Shia:
Did ya notice at the end how Shia has to clean her paws after contact with a human? Also if you turn your speakers up to max volume during the last section you will hear the thump, thump, thump of Shia smacking Daddy. Thursday, December 8, 2011
Santa Patrol Kitty Style
Aleah has taken it upon herself to monitor the exterior perimeter of the house after hearing countless songs about some human named Santa.
Thus far there have been no sightings, but Momma keeps reminding her to be a good girl.

A Brush with the Law
Momma has been feeding a stray cat who nightly visits the dealership where Daddy works. Last Thursday Momma didn't get to the dealership at her normal time so Daddy drove her there around 9:30 PM. Fresh food and water were left in the normal spot and Daddy started to drive away when he noticed flashing blue lights in his rear view mirror. Yep, the firm arm of the law suspected foul play and wanted to know exactly what was Daddy doing sneaking around at night and what did he put under that car? Thankfully Daddy had his dealership work shirt on and handed the officer a business card proving he indeed worked there. Then there were lots of laughs as Daddy explained that Momma is a devout cat lover and is feeding a cat in order to one day catch him or her. The tandem officer came around to the driver's side window and started talking about how much he wants the sports car on the lot. He was the first to notice the elusive mostly white cat slink out of the shadows and start eating the food we left. Our star witness confirmed our story and I think Daddy made another car sale. Whew, for a minute there I was afraid Momma was gonna end up in the slammer for trying to help a cat!

We're Back with Cake
Sorry we took the week off. It has been so crazy here, but the good news is we documented most of it to share with everyone. First was Momma's birthday! The celebration included a favorite of mine... CHEESECAKE.

Finders Keepers
Aleah is extremely happy that the kittens have returned to the neighbor's house. She wouldn't come out of her room while the little ones were here, however during her post-kitten inspection of the house she couldn't resist trying out one of their toys:

Kittens Discover Camera
It has been well documented on this blog that the kittens are quite savvy with the latest technology, particularly the iPad. It didn't take them long to realize they could have great fun with Momma's cell phone too. Pumpkin is the first to spy that the phone looks an awful lot like a miniature iPad.
Hey lemme see that:
Not wanting Pumpkin to have all the fun, Tigger makes a grab for it too.
Hey gimme that:

Hey gimme that:
The phone is now on the ground and Momma switches the camera mode so the kittens can see themselves. It takes Pumpkin all of 10 seconds to realize where the button is to take a picture. Here are a few of her self-portraits:
Tigger of course must show Pumpkin that he can do anything his sister can do, so he is the next to learn how to take a picture:
Milo wasn't as enthralled with the phone as his siblings but his ear does make it into one of the pictures Pumpkin took:
If these kittens learned how to take pictures on a phone in a matter of seconds, can you image what these three are going to be like when they are adults?

No Sleepy in Pod for Abbi
I was pretty excited to see another box arrive, but then imagine my excitement when Momma explained the contents of the box were for me too!
Oh look, there's more. Wonder what this is?
My curiosity takes over and in I go:
Ahhh, what a nice spot for a little nap:
Oh look, there's more. Wonder what this is?
Aggghhh, it's a carrier... I must RETREAT!
